Nowadays, sexual problems in men have turned out to be very common due to diverse reasons. Due to the sedentary lifestyle, men often suffer from sexual difficulties like ED, premature ejaculation, low libido, etc.

In this blog, you will come to know about the reasons that are responsible for causing men's sexual problems.

Men Sexual Problem Reasons

Low libido

When a man has a low libido, he starts experiencing decreased interest in sexual activity.

It is common to lose interest in sexual activity from time to time because of the variation in libido levels.

A man starts facing the issue of low libido when he suffers from physical as well as psychological problems.

You need to know that low libido means low sexual desires, low stamina, and dull sexual session as well.  This problem can last for a long time if you do not address the issue with the right treatment.

Low testosterone

Testosterone is considered the important male hormone and is produced in testicles. It plays a vital role in muscle building, bone mass as well as stimulating sperm production.

Remember that your sexual drive completely depends upon testosterone levels. You start experiencing low sexual desires if there is a decrease in testosterone levels.

However, you need to consult the doctor and start taking the necessary medicines to increase testosterone levels.

Medicines

It is important for you to know that intake of certain medicines can cause a decrease in your testosterone levels.

This will further also lead to low libido and make you suffer from male sexual problems such as erectile dysfunction.

Blood pressure drugs like beta-blockers and ACE inhibitors often prevent you from experiencing erections and ejaculation.

Some of the medications that are responsible for lowering testosterone levels include:

  • Opioid pain relievers like morphine and oxycodone
  • Antifungal drugs such as ketoconazole
  • Some antidepressants

In case, you are experiencing the effects of low testosterone levels then make sure you contact the doctor immediately.

Restless legs syndrome

Restless legs syndrome is mainly an uncontrollable desire to move your legs. Being a man, if you are suffering from RLS then you are at a greater risk of suffering from erectile dysfunction.

ED is a condition when a man is not able to get or maintain an erection during sexual activity.

If RLS occurrences take place at least five times per month then you have 50% more chances to suffer from ED.

However, men without RLS have low chances to face the problem of erectile dysfunction.

Chronic illness

When you are not well or have deficiency of vitamins due to chronic health conditions then it is obvious to have low sexual desires.

Some serious illnesses like cancer often decrease sperm production counts.

There are certain diseases that are responsible for lowering your libido levels like:

  • High cholesterol
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • Obesity or Abdominal Fat
  • Chronic lung, kidney & heart disease and liver failure

It is always better to talk with your doctor in order to get the right treatment for your chronic illness.

Depression

Always remember that depression has a great impact on your overall life.

People experiencing depression often have less interest in activities that offer pleasure including sexual intercourse.

Some of the antidepressants often lead to the problem of low libido:

  • Serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors like duloxetine
  • Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors including fluoxetine and zoloft (sertraline)

In case, you are facing the problem of low libido because of taking antidepressants then contact the doctor quickly.

Aging

As men age and are in their late teens, testosterone levels that are connected to libido are at their maximum.

As you age, your body can take a long time to have orgasms, ejaculate, and become stimulated.

You will experience that your erections are not hard and the male reproductive organ also takes a long time to erect.

But don’t worry because you can now easily find medicines to address all these male sexual issues.

Sleep issues

Nonobese men suffering from obstructive sleep apnea often face the problem of low testosterone levels.

As a result, they start experiencing decreased sexual activity as well as libido.

You need to know that almost one-third of men suffering from sleep apnea have decreased levels of testosterone.

If you are also one of them then consult your doctor once and get the right treatment immediately.

Alcohol

Consumption of alcohol on a regular basis decreases the production of testosterone and even leads to reduced sexual activity.

Alcohol not only decreases your sexual desire but also has a great effect on your overall health, causing serious diseases.

In order to meet your sexual requirements effectively, it is necessary to avoid or limit the intake of alcohol.

So, if you wish to treat men's sexual issues then it is necessary to pay attention to the underlying problems.
